This is my market research pie chart. I asked 15 people of each age group (also mixed gender) if they would ever use an event’s company to organise an event for them. These were the results:
Under 24 – 3 people said they would use an events organisation to organise their event – this is because sometimes they need a more professional looking event and they thought a company would be better at this.
Age 25-55 – 10 out of 15 people said they would be more inclined to hire a company to organise their event, basically because they have no time. They have families and jobs to prioritise over organising a birthday or christening and believe this sort of enterprise would be a worthy addition to the market.
Age 56+ – 12 people said they would be grateful for the option to have someone else organise and important event for them. As they are of retiring age they would probably be more inclined to hire a company to organise a special event for them (or even someone in the previous age category for an elderly relative). They also have the money to spend so would probably be more inclined to do so.
My research shows that the most popular age category was 56+, with the age category of between 25 and 55 not far behind. I think to start with I will target the age category 25-55 as they are more likely to use social media sites which is how I will advertise my enterprise, as it is free and effective. When my enterprise is up and running and I have some more money, I think I will be able to target other age groups as I will be able to afford the advertising fees.
